When sketching is finished I mask down where I want to work like the border, using masking tape. And any penciling I don't want covered I use masking fluid.
After masking out each thing you don't want the paint to touch you let it dry and after it's dry you can rub off, Only when completely dry.

You can see the border I worked on is finished I used Blues,Greens, and Yellow watercolor paint.I mixed all three colors into each other to get a soft look I kept the paint wet working fast I poured salts over the hole border and let that dry.
After the border dried I brushed off the salts and pulled the tape off.I then started work on masking out her trim on her dress ,you can see that in yellow.Let that dry.

Ok, after the mask is dry I started mixing some peachy yellow watercolor paints together.I brushed over her hole dress and used more of the peachy red to get some dept.I also used a blue and a darker red on her dress to get the swirl and just blending them so it looked like I used purple too. While the paint is wet I used some salts to get texture.
Then I used blue for her belt, collar, and armband and let all that dry. Sometimes I can get impatient waiting for the paint to dry so I use the hair dryer it comes in handy.

Now her hair, thats easy I just masked out what I wanted highlighted let that dry and went to work.I used a reddish orange and a brown watercolor paint and made it darker up by her head and lighter at the ends. Also detailed some lines throughout her hair.Let that all dry.

Ok it gets fast here I started working on her face and flowers on her head all at the same time.I used white, flesh, peach, and black/brown paint. And just blended all of them till I had her face where I wanted it and let that dry(sometimes using a hairdryer)highlighting or darking where I needed it.
The flowers I used the same pinks, greens, yellows,a light purple the reds I was using in her hair.

After the flowers where finished I then worked on her jewelry around her head and in her hair and did any detail work where ever you thought needed it.And here you have it.Now naming her that can come easy or hard depends on the painting. Her name is.....Lady Magdala.
She took three weeks or so of work and is on 14x17 watercolor paper.
